Livonia City FC is proud to welcome back Gaven King as Men’s Head Coach for the 2021 season. King has been with the club since 2017, making him the longest tenured and winningest coach for the club. Spending time as our reserves coach before taking over as the Head Coach of the first team, he’s already won an impressive amount of silverware. In 2017, he led the club to a league double by winning the Michigan Premier Soccer League (MPSL) 1st Division and League Cup, followed up by another league double in 2019 in the MPSL Premier Division.
The club missed out on any league silverware in 2018, but Gaven helped guide the club to to very successful cup campaigns by winning the USASA Region 2 Tournament of Champions in Kentucky and a 3rd place finish at USASA TOC Nationals. Under King’s guidance, the club has seen successful in the US Open Cup with 4 wins, most notably a 4-0 thrashing against Aurora Borealis FC.
Club President, Craig Beebe, said: “Gaven has been an important part of the club both on and off the field in the time that he’s been here and we’re excited for him to lead our Men’s team in our inaugural season in the Midwest Premier League.
“Not only that, but we’ll be entering the Amateur Cup, the Tournament of Champions, Open Cup qualifying, and possibly more competitions.”
King, added: “I’m excited to be returning for another year with LCFC and look forward to the new challenges of the MWPL and do our best to impress in the other competitions we enter. We can’t wait to get started.”
The rest of the men’s staff will be announced in the next few days and keep a look out for further news from the club in the coming weeks.
