Livonia City FC would like to welcome Justin Hunter to the club as our Goalkeeper Coach, where he will work with both our men’s and women’s goalkeepers. Justin currently serves as the Director of Goalkeeping for Downriver Rush, a position he’s held since 2017. He also has experience coaching at the high school level with Gabriel Richard Catholic High School, where he was the Girls Assistant Coach, Girls JV Coach and Boys Varsity Coach, as well as with Allen Park High School where coached both boys and girls varsity during his time there.
As a player, Justin spent time with the Novi Jaguars and the Downriver Rush. He didn’t limit himself to just soccer though as he also played college football for Albion College and was on the 2011 team that was crowned MIAA Champions.
Justin currently holds a USSF National D License and a United Soccer Coaches Level 3 Goalkeeping Certificate, as well as a United Soccer Coaches LGBT Diversity and Inclusion Certificate.
He had this to say about joining LCFC: “I’m really excited to joining the club and I’m looking forward to see how I can grow as a coach given the quality of players within the organization.
Not only will I challenge them to give everything they’ve got during each session, but I will also make sure I’m on the top of my game to bring the best sessions and planning possible”
Club President, Craig Beebe, added: “We’re so glad to welcome Justin aboard as this will be the first time our club has a dedicated Goalkeeper Coach. We know he’ll be a major boost for our training sessions and the rest of our coaching staff.”
