Livonia (Friday, April 16th, 2021) - Our men’s team will travel to Pontiac tonight to face off against Inter Detroit with hopes of kick-starting a successful Midwest Premier League (MWPL) campaign. Today’s match is not only our first league match of the season but also the first league match in MWPL history.
Inter Detroit is also a founding member of the MWPL after spending the 2020 season in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) and like LCFC, Inter also started in the Michigan Premier Soccer League (MPSL). They will also have their reserve team in the MPSL this season along with LCFC. While both clubs have already spent time in the same league together, this will be the first-ever match between the first teams.
LCFC will look to build off the momentum from the 3 to 2 victory over Teranga Lions in the USASA Region 2 Amateur Cup this past Saturday, against what is expected to be a competitive Inter roster led by newly appointed Head Coach, Jorge Medina.
