Belton and Hayes Return to Women’s Staff

Livonia, MI (February 15th, 2022) - Livonia City FC would like to welcome back Jeremiah “JB” Belton and Phil Hayes as they return to our Women’s Coaching Staff for 2022.

Belton will continue as Associate Head Coach for our United Women’s Soccer League Two (UWS2) squad, while Hayes retains his role as Assistant Coach and Head Coach for our Women’s Michigan Premier Soccer League (MPSL) team.

Belton started with the club in 2019, where he served as our Women’s MPSL Assistant Coach before moving up to First Team Assistant Coach and Women’s MPSL Head Coach in 2020. He spent last season as our Women’s GM/UWS2 Head Coach.

Along with coaching for LCFC, Belton serves as an Assistant Coach for the University of Detroit Mercy Men’s team, a position he’s held since August 2019.

He is also an assistant coach with MSYSA with the 2005 and 2006 age groups for the Michigan State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) Olympic Development Program (ODP). JB also holds a USSF C License.

Hayes has been with the club since 2017 and started as a player before joining the Men’s Coaching Staff. This will be his second year on the Women’s staff.

Along with coaching for LCFC, Hayes is the Girls Varsity Head Coach for Riverview Gabriel Richard, as well as the JV Boys Head Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Livonia Churchill High School.

Hayes will be going into his first year as Women’s Assistant Coach with Cleary University in the Fall and currently holds a USSF D License.

Both Hayes and Belton are also part of the United Soccer Coaches Black Soccer Coaches Advocacy Group.

Head Coach, George Easter had this to say about his staff. “I’m looking forward to working with JB again and working together with Phil. We’ve all known each other for some time now, so I know the dynamic between the coaching staff will be great!

I’m a firm believer in the program and know the team can only truly be successful when you have a staff that understands your vision for the club. Both JB and Phil are very knowledgeable and passionate about the game, and that’s exactly what we need to help build this program.”

News about our UWS2 and MPSL conference, scheduling, and player announcements will all be finalized in the coming weeks.
