Justin Hunter, Josh Fines, and Jonny Garcia Join Men’s Coaching Staff

 

 

Livonia, MI (February 19th, 2022) - Livonia City FC has announced that Justin Hunter, Josh Fines, and Jonny Garcia have joined the Men’s Coaching Staff under Head Coach Matthew Brown.

Hunter returns for his second year with LCFC after spending last season as the Men’s Goalkeeping Coach. This year, Justin will be Assistant Coach on the Men’s side, as well as the Goalkeeping Coach for both the Men’s and Women’s teams.

He has previous coaching experience with Gabriel Richard High School as a boy’s varsity team coach, Goalkeeping Coach for the University of Michigan Dearborn, and as a varsity coach for both the boy’s and girl’s teams at Allen Park High School.

Currently, Justin also coaches for Downriver Rush where he is a Staff Coach, Director of Goalkeeping, and an ODP evaluator. He currently holds a USSF National D License and a United Soccer Coaches Level 3 Goalkeeping Diploma.

Head Coach, Matt Brown, had this to say about Justin: “I couldn’t be more excited to have Justin back this Summer. His knowledge and experience will help this club tremendously and our goalkeepers are getting one of the best to help them improve their game.”

Fines, a native of Farnborough, England, joins the staff as an Assistant coach. A Spring Arbor University standout, he also competed for multiple clubs in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and even had 2 senior caps for the British Virgin Islands National Team. Josh also coaches for Liverpool FC Academy Hartland after spending time as a coach for Michigan Rush Jackson.

“I’ve known Josh for quite some time now and I’m buzzing to have him join the coaching staff this year. He’s been capped internationally and has experience at the collegiate and semi-professional levels. He’s an excellent addition to our staff and he’ll be a great resource for our players to learn from.” said, Coach Brown.

Garcia joins the club as the Head Coach for the Men’s U23 team. A former player with Schoolcraft College and Cleary University, he currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Schoolcraft College, under Head Coach Rick Larson. Garcia holds a USSF F coaching license and is currently working towards his D license. He also has previous playing experience with Detroit United in the UPSL.

Coach Brown added: “Jonny is a young coach that is extremely passionate about the game. He’s hungry and eager to prove himself and will bring a new perspective to the game. I’m excited to have him leading our U23s.”
