Scott Duhl Named as Men’s Head Coach

Livonia City FC is excited to announce Scott Duhl as our Men’s Head Coach for the 2023 season. A Canton, Michigan native, Scott has coached for Michigan Wolves SC since 2007 and is currently the club’s ECNL and NLC Director. During his time with Wolves so far, he’s coached 1 Region II Championship U15 (2014), 2 State Cup Championships (2014, 2016), 1 State Cup Finalist (2015), and 1 Mr. Soccer Winner (2008). He is also the Assistant Coach for the Schoolcraft College Women’s team.

Aside from Wolves, Scott previously coached at Salem High School where he coached in multiple roles including Varsity Head Coach for both the Boy’s and Girl’s programs from 2004 to 2015. In 2011 and 2012, he was also the Assistant Coach for the Michigan Bucks (now the Flint City Bucks) and was part of the staff that led the Bucks to the 4th round of the US Open Cup in 2012 after defeating the Chicago Fire in the 3rd round.

During his playing career, Scott won back-to-back State Championships and was a two-time Regional Finalist with the Michigan Wolves. He also played for Plymouth Salem HS where he was a two-time State Finalist and a First Team All-State & Dream Team selection as a Senior.

He played collegiately at Western Michigan University and during his time there he played 5 seasons in the PDL (now USL2) with Kalamazoo Kingdom, West Michigan Edge, and the Michigan Bucks. Scott holds a USSL “B” License.

“I am really excited to start with Livonia City and to continue to grow the club through the game. The Board is so passionate about the game and we share a similar vision in trying to push the club and its players to the highest level.  I’m hoping we can create a great environment in the training ground that carries over into match day with hard work but also creativity and great attacking ideas,” said Duhl.

“We’re very happy to be bringing Scott on as Head Coach. He brings a wealth of experience that we know will translate well for our club and our goal of making a run at the Midwest Premier League Great Lakes Conference,” added Club Chair, Ben Rode.

More details on our Men’s roster, schedule, and additional tryouts will be available soon.
